Luke Zammit
Director | Writer
Luke has been passionate about the film industry from an early age, by the age of 13 he started experimenting and self-teaching himself the craft of filming by producing numerous short films with his school friends. The hobby quickly grew in scale, renting out Malta's largest cinemas to premiere short films to a large group of family and friends.
Following two degrees at the University of Malta where he specialised in Computer Science, Luke decided to pursue his studies further at Full Sail University in Orlando FL, where he graduated Valedictorian of his class, the short film 'Magic Mouse' he wrote, directed and edited as part of this thesis went on to win numerous awards at festivals in the USA and Malta, the most prestigious being a Student Emmy nomination nationally and two wins for the Suncoast Chapter.
Upon returning to Malta he joined Stargate Studios as an artist in their Visual Effects department, where he worked on several shows including iMedici (Italty) and Sabuesos (Spain). After two years, Luke transferred to the company's Production wing, where he wrote, directed and produced several adverts and short films for brands such as Melita, Crosscraft and Maypole. Luke was also heavily involved in directing the augmented reality experience for the MCC, and production managed the short film 'Meet Caravaggio' for St John's Co-Cathedral.
Luke, is now spearheading the effort to expand the company's post-production offerings to grow beyond offering visual effects and offer films and television series alike a full post-production service from editing to finishing. This effort is already bearing fruit with the department offering ADR services to large-budget productions, audio mixing on short films and indie projects, and also editorial services on large-budget feature films.
Outside of work, Luke focuses on short-form content, growing his Youtube channel 'The Future is Electric', which is approaching 4000 subscribers and 300,000 views after two years.
